AIA - ASLA Partnership
Alberta Science Literacy Association (ASLA) is pleased to announce an official partnership with the Alberta Institute of Agrologists (AIA). This partnership is a positive step forward in supporting science literacy throughout Alberta!
As a program partner, AIA members have the opportunity to join a network of over 1,000 scientists and engineers throughout the province as we work together to deliver innovative outreach programs throughout the province. AIA members will lend their expertise and experience to schools throughout the province. Children from every corner of the province will not only learn curriculum in a unique and engaging way but will also be given an opportunity to learn what a professional agrologist is! Read more...

APEGGA - ASLA Partnership
ASLA and APEGGA are excited to announce the merger of two existing
classroom outreach programs. Known as, Scientists & Engineers-in-the-Classroom,
the merged program was launched in September 2010, by Calgary
Science Network (CSN) and Edmonton
Science Outreach Network (ESON)
and transitioning of the program in other areas of the Province
will be managed locally on a case by case basis.
By working together we can improve efficiencies, reach more
schools and fill more requests – particularly in engineering-related
curriculum topics.
Anita Rossall P.Eng. President, ASLA has this to say.
“ASLA
is very pleased to join with APEGGA to deliver the Scientists & Engineers-in-the-Classroom
program to Alberta Schools. Partnering with a well-respected professional
organization raises our profile and improves our ability to fill
requests for presentations. Ultimately teachers and students will
be the big winners.”
We welcome APEGGA’s tremendous resource base
of practicing engineers and geoscientists, their respected reputation
and commitment to science outreach!
Teachers please select the network nearest your school, and use the
online form to request a FREE presentation for your classroom. Requests are
filled on a first come, first served basis and are subject
to volunteer availability.
